The Magical Blue Feathered Victoria Crowned Pigeon That Is Even Hard To Believe Is A Pigeon

Nature and its creations. We will never get tired of speaking the beauty and uniqueness of everything created by mother Nature. It’s both a talented artist and a masterpiece and we have shown that not only once in our articles.

Today the hero and the masterpiece of our post is the rarest beauty Victoria Crowned Pigeon. A pigeon? Yeah, it looks nothing like a pigeon unless you look at it closer. With its soft blue feathers and exquisite crown, this bird that belongs to the Goura family of pigeons has stolen our heart and definitely will steal yours too!

These beauties got their name from British Queen Victoria, the greatest historical figure of 19th century England for their beautiful crown that they wear with so much grace and pride. Besides the Victoria crowned pigeons there are also 3 types of crowned pigeons belonging to the same family but these blue featured creatures are the rarest of them all, so it’s hard to see them roaming around everywhere.

Unfortunately enough, these birds are listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as Near Threatened. Victoria crowned pigeons are native to New Guinea and grow to quite large ones reaching the height of a turkey.

Much can be said about these beautiful creatures but we suggest scrolling down to see them now.
