We, human beings, have distracted ourselves from Nature a lot and started calling it civilization. Bit the inevitable truth is that Nature always finds ways to bond its creatures again and again. The talented photographer, Anastasiya Dobrovolskaya perfectly portrays this tight bond between humans and animals.
Anastasiya’s great grandfather was a photographer and passed his passion and love for the art of photography to his generation. Anastasiya has been taking photos since childhood but little did she know that one-day photography will become her profession until the moment she quit her job to make a career with her hobby, with something she really loved and enjoyed. She started with amateur shoots and ended up with more professional and truly inspiring shootings.
Being born in a family of doctors, the photographer always believed that a person’s profession should always serve and be of some kind of use for humankind and Nature.
After trying portrait photography Anastasia said: “I realized that a photo is not just a beautiful picture with a pretty girl in a dress. You can actually put some meaning into your work.” The time when she met Diana, a girl with vitiligo, a rare skin condition, and shot her with a spotted fox saved from a fur factory it sparked the idea of beginning her project “Different Beauty”.
Her real success started with the famous fox photo that pushed her into quitting her job and dedicating herself to her mission as a photographer. As you can see in the photos Anastasiya likes to match the models’ and the animals’ appearance but in the viral fox photos everything is mixed and this is not accidental since she wanted to “show harmony within one person and equality between different people, regardless of their appearance, environment, and beliefs.”
In her portraits, Anastasiya shows how much animals can be like humans, and she says, “if a person is so much like an animal, they cannot be considered ugly because of any specific features of their appearance.”
Her works carry so much sensitivity in them that they really inspire people to believe in themselves and in their beauty, and nothing is more beautiful than authenticity and confidence.
