One of the most powerful and precious moments in life is a child’s reaction of joy and excitement to things he/she likes. And Amy Jandrisevits has found the way to bring out these sincere reactions smiles and tears of these innocent creatures with physical differences. Amy has turned her craft into real compassion by creating dolls that look exactly like these children with physical differences.
No one would ever imagine that doll-making could have so much effect on children’s lives. The lack of diversity and expressionism in toys in the existing market has become a push alert for Amy to start making her own kind of diversity and the span of physical expressions and have her contribution to making a change she wanted to see in this world.
Each of the toys is made with an individual approach taking into account all the details and based on who the doll is made for. After getting the order Amy studies everything about the toy’s future owner and once all is ready she then proceeds with the creation. For her, this is not just a toy-making business but rather an emotional experience where she learns more about the recipient’s heartbreaking and touching story.
Each doll is the reflection of its owner and seeing themselves as a piece of art, a masterpiece, kids start falling in love and accepting their distinctive features. Everything starts with our perceptions and embracing themselves these kids become the very society that values differences and diversity.
